Course Overview
Level 1: Fundamentals in Business Coaching $2600
The Level 1 Coach Training Program will give you the experience and confidence you need to work with clients who are early childhood educators. The Level 1 course is a prerequisite to the Level 2 Course, in order to become a Certified Professional Business Coach. You will earn a certificate after the training that you can use towards your professional development goals. This Level 1 course provides the foundation for coaching, business, and leadership, with hands-on training and a focus on experiential participation. You will learn tools and communication techniques and have numerous opportunities to coach and receive feedback on your newly acquired skills.
Over the 3 week course, you will attend 1 all-day online zoom session each week (6 hours with a 30-minute lunch break) on either Mondays or Tuesdays with your course instructors and cohort, and will complete reading and homework assignments during the course. You will also be asked to find 1 person whom you can practice coaching during each week of the training.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Develop your understanding of the challenges faced by the Early Care and Education industry.
- Coach with confidence, in accordance with the ICF Coaching Competencies.
- Incorporate these coaching skills into your professional and personal life.
- Cultivate trust and build strong relationships with clients.
- Coach according to the ICF Code of Ethics.

- Access to a community of other like-minded business coaches in the ECE field.
Group Learning: You will get access to our online learning platform, Ruzuku, where you will be able to talk to other course participants and get instructor support. Our trainings use group learning and real practice coaching so you gain the skills and confidence you need to be an amazing coach.
Pre-Req’s : There is no prerequisite to participate in this course. It can be taken stand-alone and is recommended to anyone seeking practical systems for using coaching skills in their current profession, even if your goal is not to become a professional coach.
Level 2: Certified Professional Business Coach $1500
The Level 2 Coach Training Program allows you to get Certified as a Professional Business Coach. You must pass our certification exam at the end of taking the Level 2 course. In order to enroll in Level 2, you need to have completed Level 1 with us, or a Level 1 equivalent from another institution, and will need to have logged at least 20 hours of coaching with clients (this can be paid or unpaid clients). This Level 2 training builds upon what you learned in the fundamentals of coaching Level 1 training.
The Level 2 Cohort meets 4 times on zoom, over the course of 4 weeks, for 3 hours each time. You will also be required to complete reading and homework assignments each week, and submit one 40-60 minute video of yourself coaching a client. The video will be graded, and is pass/fail. If you fail, you will have 2 more attempts to submit again and receive a passing score.
Level 2 allows you to become Certified as an Early Childhood Education Professional Business Coach. Your certificate will say, “Certified Professional Business Coach, with a focus in ECE business coaching”. You will also receive a digital badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile, email signature, etc and use to promote yourself.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Cultivate your skills to empower your clients towards real change.
- Refine your coaching practice to coach with more impact and get real results with your clients.
- Deepen your understanding of Business Financial Analysis, Financial Forecasting, CCMS and Marketing.
- Work with a wide variety of different client needs.
In addition, you will get:
- Certification as a Professional Business Coach and 30 ICF Training Hours
- Digital Badge that says Professional Business Coach
- Advanced Resources and tools

- Access to a community of other business coaches in the ECE field

What you will Learn
Below is a brief overview of our Coach Training Courses. The course assignments include weekly readings, practice coaching with one person each week, and participation in group discussions and reflections on the Ruzuku learning platform.
Level 1 Fundamentals in Coaching Course
Week 1: Coaching for the ECE Profession
Topics covered include challenges faced by the child care industry, growth mindset, creating client agreements, and your role as a coach.
Week 2: The Business of Child Care
Topics covered include building foundational knowledge of Finance, Budgeting, and the Business of Child Care
Week 3: Facilitating Client Growth, Coaching with Results
Topics covered include helping clients navigate bookkeeping, recordkeeping, taxes, and business expansion and start-up. We will also cover how to be an effective coach, planning out the coaching session, and helping your clients achieve results.
Level 2 Certified Business Coach Course
Week 1: Client Challenges and Building Resiliency
How to help clients who are resistant to change and other challenges that arise when working with clients, Financial Forecasting, Cash Flow, and helping clients apply for grants and loans
Week 2: Empowering Educators as Leaders and Managers
Empowering Early Care Educators to develop their leadership style, identify their core values, and set boundaries. We will also cover HR and staff hiring and management.
Week 3: Coaching for Equity
In this transformative week, we will start to cultivate skills that will develop and refine your coaching practice to better serve and support your community. We will also cover Business Marketing and SWOT Analysis.
Week 4: Coaching the Person vs. Coaching the Problem
In this last week, we will learn how to coach the person, not the problem. Learn how to support clients using Child Care Management Software, and prepare for the certification exam.

Lisa Tynan, A.C.C.
Co- Instructor
Lisa holds a degree in ECE and a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Lisa is also a master trainer.
Lisa worked as a Small Business Development Center Advisor, creating the SBDC’s ECE Business Accelerator Course, and was a Program Director for a statewide Shared Services Alliance.

Who is the Certification for?
What type of Certification will I earn?
After taking the Level 2 Course, you will earn a second certificate and digital badge that will say “Certified Professional Business Coach”, with a focus in business and leadership coaching for the Early Childhood Education profession.” You certificate will also show that you have earned an additional 30 training hours.
Certificates will be emailed to you as a pdf after the training is complete and you have completed all homework assignments. For Level 2, you will also receive an electronic badge that shows you are Certified and can be used on your email signature, LinkedIn, and more.
Our coach training courses follow a rigorous standard set forth by the International Coaching Federation.

What types of payment do you take?
After filling out the registration form you will receive an email from our staff with instructions on how to submit payment.
Payment methods accepted include: Check, ACH bank transfer, or debit/credit card. A receipt and course materials/ course login will be emailed to you after you pay.
What if I have to cancel or reschedule?
